It all started with a Tango profile. A screen name that stood out — “🦂 ScorpiongirL 🦂” — and a conversation that felt oddly comforting. Jhoy, as she told me to call her, seemed vulnerable but kind. She said she was 31, living in the Philippines, and raising a three-month-old baby boy completely alone. According to her, the father had abandoned her, left her with no money, no support, and no hope.That introduction sparked sympathy — and eventually, a connection that felt very real.
